Tragic Beginnings

Jillia Blight was the princess of the Highland Kingdom during the Dunan Unification War. She was not Agares's biological daughter, but the result of the rape of her mother, Sara Blight, when thugs allegedly hired by Muse mayor Darell attacked the royal entourage soon after crossing into Highland after attending an official ceremony in Muse. Soon after her birth, her mother died. Agares, never truly able to love Jillia due to the nature of her conception. Her brother, Luca, noted her resemblance both in terms of looks and personality to his beloved mother; this resemblance acted as a small buffer to Luca's growing instability and madness.

As a child, Jillia vacationed at the Blight's summer house in Kyaro, where she was able to enjoy playing with her dog. Two local boys, Riou and Jowy Atreides, spied upon her before being chased off by a guarding highland soldier.

As an adult, Luca began to launch a campaign in order to take his revenge on the nation of Jowston, beginning with the slaughter of the Unicorn Brigade, blamed on Jowston soldiers, in SY 460. Jillia was very much against the war with the City-States of Jowston, and listened to the dying request of two supposed Highland spies, Riou and Jowy. However, despite listening to their pleas of innocence, she was powerless to stop it, though she did relate the story to her brother Luca.

Despite her brother's preference that Jillia stay within the castle, Jillia travelled to the battlefield with him, travelling in her own, elaborate tent. Jillia travelled with Luca in order to attempt to talk Luca into stopping his mad war, but Luca refused to listen to her. Luca threatened that if Jillia did not resemble their mother so much, he would have choked her long ago. Jillia replied that if it would ease his suffering, she would not mind, a declaration which momentarily shocked her brother, though it did nothing to change his resolution to destroy Jowston.[1]

While living within the tent, Jillia saved Riou and Jowy, housing the young spies following their discovery by Rowd.After some tea, Jillia was convinced of their story and protected them from being discovered by refusing to allow Rowd to search her quarters, allowing Riou and Jowy to pass, although Rowd saw through this ruse and Jowy was captured by him.

Jowy became an operate for Highland, eventually gaining Luca's favour through several successful campaigns. When asked what he would like as an award should he manage to capture the Jowston territory of Greenhill, Jowy replied that he would like Jillia's hand in marriage, a request Luca laughed at the audacity of, but promised Jowy would be his should he succeed, but that should he fail, Luca would execute him.

Jowy's plan to capture Highland proved successful, and Jowy became engaged to Jillia. The two quickly wed, with Jillia's now husband taking on the surname of Blight, becoming Jowy Blight. Following their wedding ceremony, Jowy was initiated into the Blight family via a ritual. Unknown to Jillia, her new husband and her brother hatched a scheme in order to kill Agares during this ritual: Jowy poisoned his blood prior to the ceremony, where his blood would be mixed with wine and Agares would drink the mixture. However, having had the antidote, Jowy remained immune to the poison's effect, while Agares did not. Jillia was shocked by her step-father's death, and immediately suspected her brother, who confirmed her fears.

Soon after, her brother would also be murdered, after the Allied Army routed his plans for a midnight raid on their lands, following a tip given to them by Jowy and his strategist Leon Silverberg. Her husband became King of Highland, and with him, Jillia became Queen.

However, despite Luca's death, the war between the Allied Army and the Highland Army did not end; the battle only intensified, and Highland began to lose more and more battles as the Allied Army increased in strength. In desperation, Jowy prepared an elaborate ruse in order to increase the morale of the soldiers, seemingly sacrificing Jillia to the Beast Rune in order to fuel it's powers. However, in reality, Jowy had only sacrificed a doll made to resemble Jillia.
[edit] The End of the Highland Kingdom

At the end of the war, with the Highland Kingdom and the Blight legacy apparently closing in on their final chapters, Jowy made arrangements for both her and Pilika, an orphan child that Jowy had taken in. Jillia was sent away with Pilika to live in the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, where Jowy set up an estate for her where she and Pilika would be safe. Before leaving her husband, Jillia ran back to her husband, giving him one final goodbye before leaving for the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, successfully evading capture by the Allied Army.

Jowy, in turn, never forgot his wife, and following his duel with Riou at Tenzan Pass, Jowy, Riou, and Nanami looked in on Jillia, where she could be seen happily spending time in her garden with Pilika. .
